{"id":975,"date":"2010-02-10T16:14:51","date_gmt":"2010-02-10T16:14:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/voteforjoe.com\/wheresjoe\/?p=413"},"modified":"2010-02-10T16:14:51","modified_gmt":"2010-02-10T16:14:51","slug":"feeling-vague-compassion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voteforjoeblog.com\/?p=975","title":{"rendered":"feeling &#8216;vague compassion&#8217;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently gave a talk at the University of Notre Dame. \u00a0 It was sponsored, in part, by ND&#8217;s <em>Center for Social Concerns.<\/em> \u00a0 The Center is recognized nationally for it&#8217;s community-based learning courses. \u00a0 What&#8217;s more, students do &#8220;immersion experiences&#8221; in gang war zones in Chicago, migrant farm labor camps in Florida, in the back woods of Appalachia&#8230; \u00a0 Students also go throughout the Third World to help with providing food, health care, adequate housing, education&#8230; for those in dire need of all of these. \u00a0 In addition, the Center sponsors seminars on such subjects as: human trafficking, authentic human development, poverty&#8230; \u00a0 Executive Director Rev.
