I recently interviewed Todd Kennedy who does a Tumbling Class for neighborhood kids in a hardscrabble area here. \u00a0 Mr. Kennedy grew up in an even rougher area on Cleveland’s eastside in the Hough area. \u00a0 He and some friends were known as “street tumblers.” \u00a0 That is, there were no formal classes and the practiced on vacant lot dirt, grass and old mattresses. \u00a0 Mr. Kennedy went on to get a scholarship to the Bill Copps Tumbling Academy. \u00a0 (Copps is now president of the National Tumbling Association.) \u00a0 Not forgetting his roots, Kennedy has been volunteering his time with these inner city kids here the past 20 years. \u00a0 He is also in charge of Cleveland’s YMCA P.A.C.E. Program. \u00a0 The acronym P.A.C.E. stands for “Positive Attitude Changes Everything.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
