{"id":785,"date":"2008-02-21T16:08:44","date_gmt":"2008-02-21T16:08:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/voteforjoe.com\/wheresjoe\/?p=220"},"modified":"2008-02-21T16:08:44","modified_gmt":"2008-02-21T16:08:44","slug":"22108","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voteforjoeblog.com\/?p=785","title":{"rendered":"2\/21\/08"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Buckeye Back Road Tour:<\/strong> \u00a0 We headed west out of Columbus stopping at Dan Kremer&#8217;s <strong><em>Eat Food For Life Farm<\/em><\/strong> in Yorkshire, Ohio. \u00a0 Mr. Kremer is an absolute evangelist when it comes to organic farming. \u00a0 His orientation is \u00a0that farming could well be considered a pro-Life issue. \u00a0 \u00a0That is, \u00a0with modern farmers \u00a0using toxic herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers, the soil is being tremendously depleted. \u00a0 In turn, \u00a0a given \u00a0crop&#8217;s nutritional value diminishes in kind. \u00a0 What&#8217;s more, some of the toxins get into the food creating &#8216;chemical cocktails&#8217; in the consumer &#8212; that can, ultimately, \u00a0cause cancer and other disorders. \u00a0 (During an Election 2004 campaign swing through Ohio, I told the <em>Bellefountaine News<\/em> that because of these modern agricultural practices, we have become our own worst enemy when it comes to: chemical warfare.) \u00a0 Mr. Kremer looks at farming as a vocation and \u00a0adheres closely to Catholic Rural Life principles.
