I was one of the “three kings” during the Maji thing at St. Patrick’s Church in Cleveland yesterday. \u00a0 Just before Mass I had to use the restroom in \u00a0the back of the church (a challenge in itself given the robe.) \u00a0 One of the ushers looked at me and said I was a week late for the birth. \u00a0 I said I’d missed RTA’s #326 bus… \u00a0 Last night our family watched Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth<\/em>” about the critical, and imminent, threat of global warming. \u00a0 At one point in the documentary, Gore said he believed that how we deal with global warming is a “moral issue.” \u00a0 I recently took that a step further during a talk at First Methodist Church in Wellington, Ohio. \u00a0 I said our energy gluttonous lifestyles in America are tremendously fueling global warming, which in turn is causing things like super-charged hurricanes, \u00a0droughts and famine in more arid countries. \u00a0 In other words, people are dying now<\/em> because of \u00a0our wanting to hold onto our comfortable lifestyles here. \u00a0 I said this is no different than firing “slow motion bullets” at people around the world. \u00a0 And do we think that will be lost on God when he asks us Americans: \u00a0 “So, how’d you do \u00a0with: Thou Shalt Not Kill?” \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
