{"id":747,"date":"2007-11-19T15:34:31","date_gmt":"2007-11-19T15:34:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/voteforjoe.com\/wheresjoe\/?p=182"},"modified":"2007-11-19T15:34:31","modified_gmt":"2007-11-19T15:34:31","slug":"111707","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voteforjoeblog.com\/?p=747","title":{"rendered":"11\/17\/07"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change<\/strong> just released their final report (over a five year study) on Climate Change. \u00a0 The <em>NY Times<\/em> reported it is, by far, the most alarming report, indicating we could be looking at a hyper-accelarated global warming \u00a0scenario in the near future. \u00a0 The story said an unrelated Energy Agency report recently indicated that if current policies weren&#8217;t changed &#8212; the \u00a0world would <strong>warm six degrees by 2030.<\/strong> \u00a0 This would be nothing short of <em>absolutely catastrophic<\/em>. \u00a0 So&#8230; It&#8217;s my belief that we \u00a0can&#8217;t wait for worldwide government leaders to meet in a couple months to craft \u00a0what will replace the Kyoto Protocol in 2012. \u00a0For those (&#8220;change agents&#8221; in your neighborhoods, churches, civic groups&#8230;) who believe \u00a0the UN, and other, \u00a0Climate Change reports are valid, it&#8217;s time to &#8212; in a &#8216;hyper-accelerated&#8217; fashion &#8212; step up your energy conservations practices, <em>exponentially.<\/em> \u00a0 And this is not just about saving the planet in the future, it&#8217;s about us being responsible for killing people now. \u00a0 I told the <em>Wellington News<\/em> in Ohio that if our energy gluttony in America is leading to super-charged hurricanes, super-charged typhoons (2,300 dead in the Bengladesh typhoon last week, and counting); current droughts and famine in more arid countries, etc&#8230; we are, in a very real sense: <em>killing people now! \u00a0 <\/em>And do Americans \u00a0really think that we are \u00a0going to be able to play the &#8220;unintended consequences&#8221; card with God at Judgement on this thing?
