{"id":682,"date":"2007-08-23T01:46:31","date_gmt":"2007-08-23T01:46:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/voteforjoe.com\/wheresjoe\/?p=115"},"modified":"2007-08-23T01:46:31","modified_gmt":"2007-08-23T01:46:31","slug":"81807","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voteforjoeblog.com\/?p=682","title":{"rendered":"8\/18\/07"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We stumped at the Farmer&#8217;s Market in downtown Fremont. \u00a0 I passed out a lot of flyers, including one to a high school Government teacher from Springfield, Ohio (he was up visiting relatives). \u00a0 He affirmed our efforts and said he includes teaching about independents in his class. \u00a0 The guy playing guitar and singing at the Market brought up independent candidates as well. \u00a0 In between songs, he said he was totally \u00a0turned off at this point by \u00a0the two major parties and exhorted \u00a0those at the Market to consider independent \u00a0 candidates. \u00a0 I gave him a flyer&#8230; Our platform calls for people to support local farmers, and to that end we bought some peppers and corn at the Market. \u00a0 We ate the corn raw, a new culinary experience for me. \u00a0 <strong>Note:<\/strong> \u00a0 I interviewed \u00a0 Pattee Kuzma at her home in Fremont. \u00a0 Her son Keith has Downs Syndrome and is autistic. \u00a0 Pattee and her husband John are absolutely wonderful parents who have done practically everything to help their son. \u00a0 (Among many other things, Pattee \u00a0has facilitated a &#8220;Special Needs Group&#8221; through her church.) \u00a0 What&#8217;s more, the state has helped too. \u00a0 Through Ohio&#8217;s Passport Program (for the severely disabled), the Kuzmas are given so much a month to pay for eight hours of in-home health care a day for Keith.
