{"id":1398,"date":"2012-08-17T17:25:41","date_gmt":"2012-08-17T17:25:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/voteforjoeblog.com\/?p=1398"},"modified":"2012-08-17T17:25:41","modified_gmt":"2012-08-17T17:25:41","slug":"donut-bait-counter-conversation-wooly-bears-and-euthanasia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voteforjoeblog.com\/?p=1398","title":{"rendered":"Donut bait; counter conversation; &#8220;wooly bears&#8221;; and, euthanasia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We&#8217;ve been doing some &#8216;Buckeye Back Roads Stumping&#8217; throughout Ohio of late, putting up fliers and passing out campaign cards.\u00a0 It&#8217;s our answer to the Super PAC ads and multi-million dollar big Party budgets.\u00a0 This week&#8230; I stumped in <strong>The Donut Shop<\/strong> in Huron where, that&#8217;s right, they sell donuts.\u00a0 (What&#8217;s more, they even have a big walleye mounted on the wall with a chocolate donut between it&#8217;s teeth.\u00a0 &#8220;Bait&#8221; in these parts, I&#8217;m told.)\u00a0 There were about 12 regulars sitting around the counter and the conversation got quite animated.\u00a0 The common theme was most of the guys\u00a0were getting fed up with the negative campaign ads and millions (and millions, and millions&#8230;) of dollars being spent on the presidential election.\u00a0 &#8220;Then I would be your guy,&#8221; I smiled, while trying to decide whether to spend the extra money on a large coffee, or not.\u00a0 We then headed east to Vermillion, where I put up a flier at the Wooly Bear Restaurant.\u00a0 A &#8220;wooly bear&#8221; is slang for catepiller here.
