{"id":1130,"date":"2011-05-23T15:36:18","date_gmt":"2011-05-23T15:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/voteforjoe.com\/wheresjoe\/?p=603"},"modified":"2011-05-23T15:36:18","modified_gmt":"2011-05-23T15:36:18","slug":"guam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voteforjoeblog.com\/?p=1130","title":{"rendered":"Guam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our <em>Florida Panhandle Tour<\/em> \u00a0 continues&#8230; \u00a0 We stopped in Crestview, Florida, where we met with Ron and Mary Kirby. \u00a0 They met in Guam where there are two U.S. military bases. \u00a0 Guam is an unincorporated territory of the U.S. located in the western Pacific.  \u00a0 Mary is a Chemorrus, which is the indigenous people there. \u00a0 (They began populating the island some 4,000 years ago.) \u00a0 Mary said as a child she grew up with her mother, father and seven siblings &#8212; in a two-room quanzit hut. \u00a0 She said there was no hot water, little in the way of life frills, but close family and community life.
