Our Roaming Wyoming Tour<\/em> \u00a0 took us to Laramie over the weekend. \u00a0 While there, I met Douglas Wolford who is from Big Springs, Nebraska, and was on his way home from a vacation with his wife at Yellowstone Park. \u00a0 He has been on several mission trips \u00a0to Mexico with the Assembly of God Church. \u00a0 He has gone down to help build churches and an \u00a0orphanage. \u00a0 He said at one orphanage that he visited, \u00a0there were some 40 kids ranging in age from four to 16. \u00a0 Mr. Wolford said they were both “hungry for food and attention.” \u00a0 He said when you see the poverty and desperation \u00a0first-hand in a country like this, it’s not hard to understand why parents would do practically anything (including crossing the border illegally) to get help for their children… \u00a0 Mr. Wolford is also Secretary Treasurer of the Big Springs Fire District<\/em> \u00a0 and responds to many accidents near the I-80 and I-76 split near Big Springs. \u00a0 He said what might even be more effective than, say, showing a Signal 30<\/em> \u00a0 movie at a school for drunk drivers, is to have the DWI offenders accompany him to some of these accidents to see, \u00a0up close, \u00a0the extreme carnage in the aftermath of one of these drunk driving crashes. \u00a0 Good point. \u00a0 \u00a0 Note: \u00a0 For more on our Hispanic Immigration stance…<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
