I attended a Colorado Amendment 62 Personhood<\/strong> meeting in Greeley, Colorado. \u00a0 This is a statewide push to make abortion illegal. \u00a0 The literature points to the Biblical passage, Jeremiah 1:5, which quotes God saying: \u00a0 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.”<\/em> \u00a0 If you’re Christian, this would seem, oh, a no brainer when it comes to abortion being right or wrong. \u00a0 At the meeting, I talked to Keith Mason who is the president of Personhood USA. \u00a0 He said that while Colorado is the first state pushing for an amendment, the Personhood movement has been established, in varying degrees, in 40 states now. \u00a0 The featured speaker at the meeting was Pastor Walter Hoye from Oakland, California. \u00a0 (He had recently been given a 30-day jail sentence for sidewalk counseling in front of an abortion clinic there.) \u00a0 Pastor Hoye is African American. \u00a0 He said like slaves were \u00a0considered property then, the unborn baby is considered property now. \u00a0He then shared a poignant story about the Klu Klux Klan surrounding his home in the south as a youth. \u00a0 They then set the home ablaze, with his family inside. \u00a0 Half of his family died. \u00a0 No one was prosecuted. \u00a0 And it’s the same now. \u00a0 That is, the killing of these unborn babies goes on, and on — \u00a0and no one is prosecuted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
