Our Rocky Mountain High Tour<\/em> \u00a0 continues… \u00a0 Last weekend we met with Mary Jo and Dave Tesitor in \u00a0Huerfano County, Colorado. \u00a0 They have three adopted children. \u00a0 The Tesitors, driven by their \u00a0Catholic faith, \u00a0adopted children with special needs. \u00a0 The first child was the result of a crisis pregnancy and preliminary \u00a0tests showed the child \u00a0could \u00a0have some significant mental disabilities. \u00a0 The child was, indeed, born with some mental impairment. \u00a0 The Tesitors were in earnest prayer asking God for a sign \u00a0about whether to adopt, given the condition. \u00a0 (They hadn’t yet gone to the hospital to see the baby yet.) \u00a0 However, during their discernment process, they decided if they were going to adopt, they would name the baby: Maria. \u00a0 After some time, they called the hospital to make an appointment to come in to see the baby. \u00a0 When \u00a0explaining about which room the baby was in, the nurse said: ” \u00a0‘Baby Maria’ \u00a0is \u00a0in room…” \u00a0 “That was enough of a sign for us,” Mary Jo smiled. \u00a0 Note:<\/strong> \u00a0 Dave Tesitor also writes articles for the Huerfano World Journal<\/em> newspaper here. \u00a0 He called his editor and said he’d like to do a story on our campaign. \u00a0 She said ok, unless of course I was like the last <\/em>independent presidential candidate they’d interviewed. \u00a0 Dave told me that just before Election 2008, a woman showed up at the newspaper saying she was running for president as an independent candidate and that one of her platform points was: “Making Mars the 51st state.” \u00a0 I told Dave to call his editor back and tell her how ridiculous I thought that was. \u00a0 “Then tell her I think the 51st state actually \u00a0should be Pluto.” \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
